The loss of Human contact
So in this new job I have, part of my duties (hehehe) are to go through surveys that people take and respond to them. What amazes me is the type of things that people say. Without human contact we are at a loss for being polite or even courteous. Sure some people are just the angry type, learned that at the City, but others are just bored or frustrated. I guarantee that if this was a phone in survey I would never get people saying some of the things they do. I guess this is where the internet has let us down. It has given us the ability to speak rudely to people with no repercussion. Any way Nibb High Football RULES!!!!

been awhile! me too...
anyways, i wonder about the study in that it seems obvious that people lose cultural bounds and cultural mores when they are not in touch with people. being courteous and polite are both cultural categories, so it seems like the study would have been more profound if it said (which it might or probably does) people lose the ability for compassion or mercy.
what do you think?
Just some thoughts, after reading
your blog. Life passion, that inpacts mankind, starts at home. Live your life and take care of your family as a example to others and that in it's self is a mankind impact. And if it's to be for you to impact the world in a bigger way then that will come. You have alot of questions, but I wonder if you have enough faith and are open minded enough to really listen. I mean really listen and just take life and people for what they are without pushing your beliefs on them. That's the kind of man Jesus was, he accepted everyone. He taught and led by example. I was reading all your blogs and it seem you have alot of queations on drinking. What you have to be strong enough to do is to do what you feel is right for you and your family, and not question others, unless the laws of man or being broken. The laws of God are in you heart, so listen to it, and if there is a time when you are around someone who you know are having problems with any kind of substance abuse, listen to that heart and I feel sure it will lead you to do what is right. Enjoyed your Blog, you seem to be a man of great passion.A man without passion is a man without life. Have a wonderful day.
dear anonymous,
thank you for taking the time to read thru some of my thoughts. I agree that changing the world starts at home and I am trying. Don't know that I always do this in the best way, but that I do believe I try. You are right I do have a lot of questions and it seems that the more of them I ask the more they multiply.
I am curious on why you think that I don't have enough faith or open mindedness to really listen. I do agree that Jesus accepted everyone, but I disagree with the fact that he didn't push his beliefs on everyone else. One fo the main points of his life was teaching. He asked people to change. Now he didn't go running around throwing things in people's faces but he didn't just sit by and say "I know that you believe it is okay to sell idols in the temple, so I will let you continue." I know that is not a great example but at some point you have to stand up for you beliefs.
I don't want to pick apart you comments because I am truely thankful that you made them.
My question with alcohol is not whether you should drink it around a recovering alcoholic, but whether a glass or two of wine with dinner is appropriate with friends.
Thank you again for taking the time to share in some of my thoughts.
